Gananway was KLAAAASS this year. It had the normal youth club, laid-back vibes going on for all you hippies out there, and as always we had good craic. On Friday we - about 34 of us - got there at around 8pm. We played the trademark youth club games - that EVERYONE has to take part in... to bond or something, I dunno, mad stuff! We played the "crossed or uncrossed" game with the forks and then the cereal box game - get it with your teeth with only your feet on the floor. Then we played the greatest game EVER - volleyball! Fun fun fun. Lots of people raked on Friday night, but weekenders will be weekenders, and weekenders have to rake.

Next day the all nighters were all wrecked. Great company come the morning. On Saturday we did activities: wall climbing with abseiling/zipline or the ropes course with the nightline. Then we did a loooong walk and that took it out of us all so that we slept like babies that night - Lyle and Jake are very wise making us walk. We had time to shop in Bangor, which was happily accepted.

On Saturday night we watched video clips and "The Incredibles". Quality viewing. Then, like I said, all was silent on Saturday night. On Sunday we went to this really beautiful church, where Jake was so touched by the service that he meditated... or more commonly called sleeping! We then had lunch, tidied the centre up, moved out and drove back to First Antrim.

It was a really class weekend because there was no rushing and we were so chilled. As always, it wasn't what we did that made it immense, but the company!

Greetings fellow FAYC members!

Well Camp 2005 is finished and all that is left are stories... and great photos!

On Tuesday 5th July we met up at Belfast International Airport in the wee small hours of the morning; the amount of bed hair that was on show among the "happy" campers was something to behold. When we arrived at Bristol Airport we met up with Jake and the minibuses, and set off to Teignmouth Rugby Club where we were to spend the next ten glorious days.

For the first couple of days, we played puttocks©, chilled, walked and burned - the normal Camp routine! Now and then, as the week progressed, we ventured from our nest into Torquay for some shopping and the good ole Go-Karts (this seemed quite a task for Charlotte Allen, as you'll soon see when you check out the photos).

One very sunny morning, Jake though it was a good idea to go for a "stroll", yes a "stroll"! This 6 mile, I mean 7, I said 8 mile walk ended up being a 10 mile hike over difficult terrain, which Matthew Lafferty came to discover was more than he expected. At one point we did get lost, but we can just blame it on Wilson's fantastic map reading skills.

On one other sunny day we went to Quaywest water park, home of the Wedgie Slide. This slide was very popular with Dave, who got the whole youth club into bother due to his mischief - but we will not get into that here, he's quite sensitive.

Through the whole week we would go to the local pitch and putt course. Balls were lost, putters were damaged and golf balls were lost too. This was also where Craig cracked the front windscreen of a mini bus, which his Mum doesn't know about so if ya wanna drop a hint by all means.

To leave out the disease that plagued so many wouldn't be right. There was only about twenty that didn't catch the virus - myself included! Buckets were filled, toilets were blocked and rivalry was created because of it. The "sickies" were separated from the clean healthy ones. Hygiene had to be brought up a notch so no one else caught the disease.

On the last night everybody was healthy and could enjoy themselves for the festivities. And oh yes, Jake was healthy to so the night was far from a waste. The old favourites were... well now, I can't actually divulge the details of what happens during the last night because there might be some non-Campers reading this! Rest assured the last night was a side splitting hoot!

Although many were sick, the unity of FAYC was still strong. We all came together to help leaders and fellow campers. Because the only difference between FAYC and all other youth clubs in Antrim and beyond is: there ain't no flies on us!
